Meine Reise
Wie du weißt, habe ich viele Jahre in Asien gewohnt. Seit nicht mal einem Jahr bin ich jetzt wieder in Deutschland. In Asien habe ich auch angefangen mein Business aufzubauen.

My Journey
As you know, I lived in Asia for many years. I have been back in Germany for less than a year now. It was in Asia that I also started building my business.
FIRST: German as a Foreign Language – THEN: German4work (Business German) – THEN: Language Training (feel comfortable speaking)
Das Geheimnis
Lange habe ich gedacht: Wenn man mich professionel ernst nehmen will, wenn ich mit Kunden arbeiten will, die in großen Firmen in Deutschland, Österreich oder der Schweiz arbeiten — dann darf niemand wissen, dass ich in Asien wohne.
Keiner darf das wissen!
Keiner darf wissen, dass ich:
- jeden Morgen am Strand spazieren gehe
- mir jeden Tag Zeit nehme zu kochen
- gerne manchmal das ganze Wochenende auf Parties gehe (damals)
- total gerne Deutsche Krimis schaue
- mit Astrologie, Tarot und Meditation arbeite
- Freitag für mich zum Wochenende gehört
- gelernte Schneiderin bin
- viele Jahre als Sommelier und Restaurantleitung gearbeitet habe
- ein sehr unkonventionelles Leben habe und sehr stolz darauf bin
The Secret
For a long time I thought: If I want to be taken seriously professionally, if I want to work with clients in large companies in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland — then no one must know that I live in Asia.
Nobody should know!
Nobody should know that I:
- walk on the beach every morning
- take time to cook every day
- used to love going to parties all weekend (back then)
- absolutely love watching German crime series
- work with astrology, tarot, and meditation
- consider Friday as part of my weekend
- am a trained seamstress
- worked for many years as a sommelier and restaurant manager
- have a very unconventional life and am very proud of it
Der Spiegel, den jeder braucht.
Jetzt habe ich eine Kundin, die mir den Spiegel vor die Nase hält: Sie arbeitet in einem großen internationalen Konzern in der Schweiz. Sie hat eine hohe Position und Verantwortung für viele Angestellte und große Prozesse.
Sie interessiert sich für extreme Ernährungskonzepte, Gesundheitsforschung basierend auf Lichttherapien und eigentlich ist alles in ihrem Privatleben das komplette Gegenteil von der Firma, in der sie arbeitet. Ökologisch, nachhaltig und individuell.
Ich bin mir sicher, dass sie ihre Arbeit fantastisch macht. Sie bekommt nach nur 6 Monaten (natürlich nach der Arbeit mit mir ;)) bereits ihre zweite Beförderung.
The mirror everyone needs
Now I have a client who’s holding up a mirror to me: She works for a large international corporation in Switzerland. She holds a senior position and is responsible for many employees and major processes.
She’s interested in extreme dietary concepts and health research based on light therapy, and actually, everything in her personal life is the complete opposite of the company she works for—ecological, sustainable, and individual.
I’m sure she does a fantastic job. After just six months (of course, after working with me ;)), she’s already received her second promotion.
Ein bisschen Selbstliebe
Und genauso weiß ich auch, dass ich meine Arbeit fantastisch mache. Nicht trotzdem ich so unkonventionell lebe, sondern genau deswegen.
Es gibt nicht viele Dinge, über die ich nicht mit dir reden kann. Glaub mir!
Jedenfalls ist jetzt Zeit für Dinge, die mich wirklich beschäftigen. Und es gibt immer eine Brücke zum Deutschlernen. Das ist übrigens auch eine Fähigkeit von mir. Ich kann Dinge, die scheinbar gar nichts miteinander zu tun haben, problemlos in Verbindung bringen.
A little self love
And I know just as well that I do a fantastic job. Not despite the fact that I live such an unconventional life, but precisely because of it.
There aren’t many things I can’t talk to you about. Believe me!
Anyway, now it’s time for things that really matter to me. And there’s always a connection to learning German. That’s actually one of my skills, by the way. I can easily connect things that seem to have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
Also: Was hat das mit Deutsch zu tun?
Denke nicht, dass es reicht, nur das Deutsch zu lernen, was du in Lehrbüchern findest. Du machst es dir einfach und schwierig zugleich. Einfach, weil du dir keine Mühe gibst, wirklich das richtige Material für dich zu finden und schwierig, weil du ständig deine Zeit mit Dingen verschwendest, die dich eigentlich nicht weiter birngen.
Du musst beim Lernen deine ganze Persönlichkeit mit all ihren Facetten einbringen. Jedes Hobby und jede Leidenschaft gehört dazu!
What does this have to do with German???
Don’t think that just learning the German you find in textbooks is enough. You’re making it both easy and difficult for yourself.Easy because you aren’t making the effort to find the right material for you, and difficult because you’re constantly wasting your time on things that don’t actually help you progress.
You need to bring your whole personality, with all its facets, to your learning. Every hobby and every passion is part of it!
